Para-Nordic Skiing Programs

Para-nordic programming is a great way for individuals of all ages and abilities to get involved in cross-country skiing and biathlon. Nordiq Alberta is committed to providing opportunities for individuals with physical impairments to get outside and ski, whether it be for recreation or high-performance competition.

  • Calgary based para-nordic programming (development to high performance stages)

  • Strathcona County (east of Edmonton) based para-nordic programming

Provincial Open Camp Subsidy

Nordiq Alberta is excited to announce a new opportunity for para-nordic participants! Nordiq Alberta will subsidize up to 100% of registration fees for the Provincial Open Camps. Nordiq Alberta is hosting the following open camps:

  • Provincial On-Snow Open Camp – December 1 – 3, Tawatinaw, AB

Nordiq Alberta is always looking for ways to increase accessibility to the sport of cross-country skiing. As such, we are pleased to offer a limited number of sit-skis on a first come, first served basis for para-nordic programs across the province. If you run or are interested in running para-nordic programming, please contact our office to discuss how Nordiq Alberta can support you.

Coaching Kids of All Abilities – online courses

And the Head: which provides tools, strategies, and tested philosophies that demonstrate the importance of movement, activity, and physical literacy for people of all abilities, while identifying the barriers that discourage some participants from joining.”

NCCP Coaching Athletes with a Disability – online course

  • “NCCP Coaching Athletes with a Disability is a resource for coaches who are new to coaching athletes with a disability. Many coaches who are already working with athletes with a disability will also find the module useful.”
