Nordiq Alberta is excited to launch our Club Membership Contest!!
What is the Club Membership Contest?
Every Nordiq Alberta club will be split into one of four groups based on their 2022 - 2023 club membership numbers. The four groups are: New Club, Membership of under 100 people, Membership of 101 - 500 people, and Membership of 501+ people. Each club is working to have more people join their club increasing their membership numbers from the previous year. To win, the club from each group with the highest percentage of membership growth (based on Zone 4 registrations) by February 15, 2024 will win some of the incredible prizes we have available!
Contest Details:
- The contest begins November 1, 2023 and will conclude on February 15th, 2024
- The prizes will be distributed across the four groups so there are more winners! The prizes will be randomly distributed amongst the winners of each group
- Prizes can be used by clubs as they see fit: to raffle off, for a family in need, to use as a volunteer draw prize, for a kids program, for an Early-Bird prize … your choice!
- Winners of the membership contest will be recognized at Nordiq Alberta's End of Season Bash
How can my club increase it's membership?
There are endless ways for a club to increase your membership! We encourage all clubs to think outside the box & get creative with a variety of initiatives. Here are some ideas and resources to get you started:
- Add posters about your club to trails! Nordiq Alberta offers custom club posters making the process simple & easy
- Host a pop up event or try-it day for your club. Want support with this event? Fill out the Nordiq Alberta Outreach Form!
- Host events or programs for specific groups such as newcomers, parents, women & girls, para-nordic athletes, family ski days, etc.
- Distribute flyers with information about your club to places in your community, schools, summer sports teams, etc. You could also advertise your club with flags, tents, and posters. Clubs can access preferred pricing through Impact Canopy.
- Connect with your local schools to teach a physical education block this winter & introduce them to cross country skiing
Membership Contest Prizes:

- Waxing gear and accessories, valued at $1200, and 2 ski bags, valued at $100 each, from Norseman
- $500 gift card to a Canmore Airbnb through Mountain Top Vacation Rentals

- Annual subscriptions to Nordic Ski Lab (5 available)
